Calgary Fairmont Palliser Wedding | Black and white photo booth
A black and white photo booth for a black tie affair
I’ve always been drawn to black and white portraiture, even from an early age. I remember loading up my family’s 1980s era film camera with ISO 400 b&w Kodak film and loving how everything looked. I was that one friend in high school who only shot in black and white while everyone else preferred colour. I suppose I was hard wired to start this particular photography offering from the very beginning. Call it a vision or just merely love at first sight, but creating these kinds of portraits has always been in my DNA.
Arriving at Bianca & Kyle’s wedding was like stepping into a dream. Calgary’s Fairmont Palliser is a venue that harkens back to another era. Maybe it’s the grand entrance through the marble floored lobby. Perhaps it is the the elegant atmosphere and impossibly high ceilings of vaulted stone. It feels like stepping into a 1920’s version of today. Their candlelit reception reminded me of the Parisian Belle Epoque. Beauty, grace and elegance personified. Champagne service and caviar for everyone.
Take a look at the portraits created. Alas, I fall in love again.
The bride wore a cathedral length veil and an old Hollywood inspired gown. The groom wore a statement jacket with embroidered embellishments, an Oscar worthy black on black ensemble.
An incredible couple. An incredible evening. An incredible, storybook worthy love.
A huge shout out to The Calgary Fairmont Palliser, PS & Co. day-of wedding co-ordintaors , Nicole Sarah Photography and Folklore Films for contributing to such an amazing wedding day.
