Calgary Black and White Photo Booth | Model Milk Reception

Shane and Matt hosted an off-the-hook reception at Calgary’s Model Milk after eloping in South Africa. Although their wedding day was for just the two of them, they couldn’t resist hosting a party for their friends and family a few months later. This was the perfect venue for an upscale post-elopement reception. Model Milk boasts a cozy interior, some of the best cocktails in the city and incredible food. If you’ve never had the pleasure of attending an event there, be sure to book in this weekend for dinner. You won’t be disappointed.

This was a stylish affair and the venue didn’t disappoint. Model Milk passed around mouth watering appetizers & cocktails for guests to enjoy before the grooms grand entrance. Shen and Matt were ushered in through a back entrance an at just the right moment appeared on the upper floor landing. They wore expertly tailored velvet tuxedos and looked like movie stars as they descended the stairway to be greeted by guests. Everyone was on their feet as Shane and Matt made their way into their reception. A warm welcome, big embraces and few happy tears were shed in honour of the newlyweds.

Since guests weren’t there to celebrate the happy couple on the day eloped, this party was extra special. The dance floor was packed late into the evening while the DJ played epic hits from the 90’s and early ‘00’s. It was the kind of party we were sad to leave.

It felt so wonderful to photograph all of the people who are most important to this couple. Since guests couldn’t be there to witness their “I do’s” it felt extra special to capture them while they danced the night away in celebration. After all, as Calgary wedding photographers, we have a special place in our hearts for photographing families, especially when they gather for a wedding celebration.
